the garden is still a work in progress — I think that is true of most gardens!!! we undertook some major work in the rear garden to create the terraces and banks from what had previously been a hill; in 2009 we planted the banks up , and luckily for us it rained and helped water them in when the planting had just been done, and so things were settling in nicely, unfortunately two consecutive harsh winters following very wet autumns meant we lost most of the more tender plants, we expect to undertake a major planting drive this year — we just hope the deer don’t decide to have a picnic!!! the trees we planted are also settling in well, but look a bit dinky compared to the ones that were here originally!!! and finally the fruit trees have borne fruit hurrah |

the red arrows - during lifeboat week the red arrows sometimes perform their display over lyme bay, we are in the perfect position to view this as they area they perform in is directly in from of us, the best part for me though is when they actually fly low over the house itself, sometime individually, but occasionally in formation from the top of the garden!! I have tried to get photos, but without much success (a new camera may be needed!!) but here are some of my efforts from July 2011 |
